Back LOA at the Movies: Film Adaptations from the Brilliant to the Bizarre

LOA LIVE

Tuesday, December 17—What are movie critics’ favorite films adapted from Library of America classics? In this special holiday LOA LIVE program, five opinionated cinephiles debate the silver screen versions that equal, surpass, or fall fascinatingly (and sometimes hilariously) short of their source material.

Join acclaimed movie mavens Justin Chang, Farran Smith Nehme, Carrie Rickey, Gene Seymour, and Mike Sragow for a lively survey of must-see films based on LOA works: noir masterpieces, historical dramas, gritty Westerns, family sagas, Technicolor musicals, gripping adventures, chilling horror, and much more.

LOA LIVE programs are made possible by contributions from friends like you, and we encourage you to consider making a donation to support future presentations. Visit loa.org/loalive to donate.

We thank our promotional partner: the Association of Literary Scholars, Critics & Writers.
