Back Free copies of The Essential Hamilton available for U.S. high school teachers

Thanks to the generosity of our members and donors, Library of America is able to offer, absolutely free, a limited number of copies of The Essential Hamilton: Letters & Other Writings to secondary school teachers of history and social studies.

This paperback edition of Hamilton’s public writings and private letters, including the correspondence between Burr and Hamilton that led to their duel, has been edited by Yale University Professor of History Joanne B. Freeman and developed with students and teachers in mind. We hope the book will provide an opportunity for teachers around the country to sustain and build on the interest in Hamilton and America’s Founders generated by the hit musical.

• Indicate the name of the school where you teach.

• Tell us the grade level(s) and subject(s) you teach.

• Include your mailing address (home addresses are okay; U.S. addresses only).
Supplies are limited and requests will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
